Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party
62Mickey's Not so Scary Halloween Party is an annual event held at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. This is what is known as a "hard ticket" event as your regular Disney theme park admission ticket or annual pass will not admit you to this very special Disney Halloween party. The party requires separate admission and upon admittance to the park you will be supplied with a wristband. You'll need that in order to get on any attractions during the party hours of 7 pm to Midnight.
The party is lots of fun and suitable for kids of all ages. The Magic Kingdom is beautifully decorated for Halloween throughout the month of October and for the party there are trick or treat stations all over the park and a special Halloween parade and Fireworks created just for the Halloween party. It is designed to be "not so scary".
Also, I find that at most hard ticket events, the ride lines are
usually significantly reduced after all the other park visitors leave,
so it is well worth making special plans to attend Mickey's Not So Scary
Halloween Party. By entering the park a few hours before the party starts and making smart use of the Fastpass feature, you can easily do most of the major rides before the night ends. So you could make the Not So Scary Halloween Party your main Magic Kingdom visit.
Disneyland holds a similar party called Mickey's Halloween Party. Be sure to check my other hub if you are located on the West Coast.
Schedule and Parade Times Info for 2010
or 2010, the first Disney Halloween Party takes place at the Magic Kingdom on Tuesday, September 14th and the final date is November 1st. October 31st will naturally be the most popular night to attend the party so I recommend getting your tickets in advance. For most nights, getting your tickets in advance also provides a small discount, with the exception of 10/8, 10/22, 10/28, 10/29, and 10/31.
The complete list of dates for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party in 2010:

October: 1, 3, 7, 8, 11, 12, 14, 17, 19, 21, 22, 24, 26, 28, 29, 31, 2010
November: 1 2010
The party officially starts at 7 p.m and ends at midnight., but ticket holders are normally admitted to the park anytime between 4pm and 7pm so if you want to get started early and hit some attractions, you will have plenty of time. This is also ideal for really young children who can't stay up until midnight. You can enter the park around 4 p.m. and leave a couple of hours after the party has begun and still feel like you got your money's worth.
Parades and Fireworks
Mickey's Boo-to-You Halloween Parade will be held each night at 8:15pm and 10:30pm. This is a not to be missed parade. Be sure to see the Headless Horseman's spooktacular ride that begins the parade. And the Haunted Mansion float is awesome. All of your favorite Disney characters will be dressed up in their own Halloween costumes!
Happy Hallowishes Fireworks start at 9:30 pm each night (weather permitting) and it features Disney's Villians in a great fireworks extravaganza.
