Zac Efron biography & photos

Okay, I admit it. I'm over 40 and I have a crush on Zac Efron. And I don't even feel embarrassed about it. In fact, I'm fully up for the task of encouraging you to have a crush on him too!

Why?

Well, geez, he can sing. He can dance. He can act. He's funny. And oh yes, did I mention the six-pack abs and the fact that he's absolutely gorgeous? Yes, this is all true! Need proof? I've got plenty. *g*

Born in 1987 (try to forget you just read that), Zac Efron has been working steadily since he was about 12 years old -- in both theater and television. But the first big splash of fame, and the first DVD you should plunder from your daughter's collection, was in Disney's High School Musical.

Playing high school, ummm, sophomore Troy Bolton, Zac Efron hasn't quite grown into his quirky looks yet, but you'll easily be won over by his charm, his voice and his effortless dance moves. There is nothing awkward about the way this teenager moves, he's all graceful motion and energy.

In his spare time, Zac also starred in another musical film, Hairspray. This time playing Link Larkin, the variety show singer with a crush on Tracy Turnblad.

By the time High School Musical 3 rolls around, Efron is a solid hottie who looks a lot more grown-up. There is an unfortunate scene in a car junkyard, but you can always fast-forward through it.

I highly recommend 17 Again. Efron does a great job with the part and the movie is funny and sweet. Plus he looks terrific in it. I've seen it twice already and will be grabbing it on DVD as soon as it comes out.
