OneRepublic on Interscope Records

OneRepublic is a Colorado band (recently located to Los Angeles) featuring singer/songwriter Ryan Tedder on Lead Vocals/Guitar/Piano; Zach Filkins on Guitar/Vocals; Eddie Fisher on Drums; and Brent Kutzle on Bass/Cello/Vocals.

Recently signed to Interscope Records, their debut album, Dreaming Out Loud, was released today in stores (Nov 20, 2007). In addition to the Timbaland remix of "Apologize", this album contains many new songs never posted on the band's popular myspace page and remixed/remastered versions of many of the tracks that have been online for awhile.

Apologize in its original form will be the first single on the band's debut album. The remix version has already been a huge hit, breaking the all time record for most airplay of any song in Top 40 history.

The second single is expected to be Stop & Stare.

Because OneRepublic has been very popular online (particularly at MySpace) since long before they were signed to Interscope Records and before Timbaland remixed Apologize for his own album, there's been quite a lot of fannish creative effort devoted to this particular song. Many of them are influenced by the unofficial music video put together by director of photography Aaron Platt for his portfolio. The video above is the original version of the song (before the Timbaland remix) and the original Platt music vid.

The videos beside this text box are some other fan vid productions for the song, Apologize. The first one was made by Alex Trimpe and Jenna Heaton. The second one is a "Six Samurai Production". They're both very interesting and you can see that people have put a lot of work into them. The second one takes a bit to get going, but stick it out.

And if you search Youtube, you will probably find at least a half dozen more versions, if not more.
