Fun Flash Drives

I'd be lost without my Flash USB drive. It is so much easier and faster than using either the archaic floppy disk or cd-r and dvd-r discs to transfer files -- especially when I only need temporary storage.
I still use dvd-r discs (and my external hard drive) for long term storage, but if I just need to move some files from my desktop to laptop computer, or want to watch some video files on my DVD player (it has a usb port) I no longer have to spend 4-5 minutes burning a disc. I can take 10-20 seconds and move it to the USB drive.
I also use the USB drive for back-ups when I travel. When I take my laptop on the road and don't have access to my external hard drive, I keep an extra set of all my important files on my flash drive and I keep that on a lanyard around my neck. This way, if my laptop gets stolen or dies, I can still stop at an internet cafe, or whereever, to get work done.
Of course, useful as they are, USB flash drives are usually pretty boring looking, but they don't have to be. There's lots of fun flash drives available -- and the novelty flash drives work just as well as their more business-like counterparts.
Mimobot Flash Drives
Mimobot Designer Flash Drives are basically the first "designer art" flash drive. They are the brainchild of Boston company, Mimoco, who started making their flash drives in 2005.
The designers are featured on the Minico website. In addition, Mimobot also does a lot of licensed flash drives. The Star Wars ones are particularly popular.
